Update: Where the hell...?

So, it's literally been months (five to be exact) since my last update.

Wow.

That is totally unacceptable. Unfortunately, while I do have time to play the games, it hasn't been all about achievements for me lately. Hopefully soon I'll be able to return to my hunt for a 1ooK. Until then, please accept my sporadic updates.

This week sucked. Zero points earned. ZERO!!

Why?

DC Universe Online has pretty much engulfed my soul. Luckily, Dead Space 2 launches on Tuesday and I'll definitely be picking it up on the Xbox 360.

Anyways, guess I should do some sort of update:

Update #1: First Week In!

Well, howdy, everyone.

We're officially one week into 2011 and the achievements are dinging like mad. Well, sort of mad. With no new Xbox 360 games out for the foreseeable future, I'm playing catch up on older games.

Not a bad start from only Lego Batman and Borderlands (Game of the Year Edition).

Goodbye 2010, Helllloooo 2011!

It's finally over. 2010 is finally behind us and we're into 2011. Thank whatever holy deity you believe in.

I'd planned on delivering some "year in review" gaming article, but honestly, everyone has done that to death by now. The only thing anyone has to know about my feelings toward this last year was that Bayonetta was my "Game of the Year". Yeah, you heard me right. The game was more than I could hope for and was simply amazing.

But time for some yearly stats!

Starting Gamerscore (on 1/01/10): 24,275
Current Gamerscore (on 1/01/11): 40,230
Increase: +15,955

So, this year, I came close to increasing my gamerscore by almost 16,000 points. Impressive considering 09-10 was just a little over 12,000. Sadly, I only managed to hit my secondary goal (40K) and came no where near my main goal (75K).

I digress, however, it is a new year! Time to reset the goals back. I think I'm going to shoot for 80,000 points this year. I think it is possible. That is only 40 full retail games. Maybe it is time to finally invest in a Gamefly account?

40,000!!!

Finally.

After a week of grinding through various games, I hit my secondary goal of 40,000 points on December 28, 2010 with the achievement "Mask-O'-Raider" (Completed all Quests in the game) from Costume Quest. It was worth 25 points.

While it is still a stark contrast from the original goal of 75,000 I'd set for myself, it does feel good to accomplish it. It has been a long and tiring year, full of heartache and pain, but it's over now. An old year ends just so a new one can begin.

Bring it on, 2011!!!
